SS merger problems

I've been backing up games flawlessly for awhile now. I stopped for awhile since not many new games came out. Im tried backing up a new game last night and ran into difficulties.

Problem
I dumped the iso w/ Wxripper. Now all i need is to patch it with an SS bin, like usual. I open SS merger 1.7 and load the ISO. Normally it takes awhile until im able to insert the corresponding SSbin. However, it freezes and the program becomes "Not Responding". I havent done this in awhile so can someone help me create the image file for this game?

This is what i get when i load the iso.

****.iso is NME 360 iso style lenght. I press ok
then
NME Security sector md5:cf0513355220975410dfb6dca90bde11. I press ok
then
Current Security sector md5:b3bbb1d6c1ecefdc7045cfed0c6d6fdf. I press ok
then
Do you want to calculate the md5 sum and verify online for iso entry. I press Yes....
This is where it loads and after awhile freezes.

Oh man...im so rusty at this...suggestions?

Don't verify the checksum. The server is offline. It'll always freeze if you say verify.

THen it doesnt load at all when i inset the ISO. It says
ISO is to big to do you want to patch anyway?
ill hit yes.
Then it creates the image file. I burned it...and it went good until 55%. Got stuck at 55% for ever =\. I dont want to waste anymore dvd discs! HELPP

Then use Schtrom 3.2 to inject the ss.bin, pfi.bin and dmi.bin files. Quicker and always works.
