Swap magic 3.6 freezing

I have a ps2 slim thats a little of a year old with a fliptop and swapmagic 3.6,

When I start up swap magic dvd it goes to the playstation screen and then freezes up at a black screen.

In the beginning it worked flawlessly, later on it took awhile for the swapmagic dvd to boot(like 20 seconds longer) and now it doesnt even boot at all and freezes after the playstation 2 screen, All of my ps2 originals work flawlessly and the swap magic cd works as well.

IS my laser bad or my swap magic dvd bad?

Is there anyway I can fix this problem?

you can first try cleaning the laser. If that doesn't work you can try adjusting the laser (pot tweek).
If the originals and CD's still load i would say your laser is fine. Many people report problems with their PS2 reading Swap Magic discs. If you have extra money you can just get a GOOD mod chip installed and not have to worry about swap magic or swapping discs.
