I just got a Pioneer DVR-105, meaning that for any kind of speed on cd burning, I need another cd burner...That's fine, I had one, but only CD R/RW, and I want it to be a CD-RW/DVD Reader because I don't want to use the DVR as the reader...
Ok, A newegg.com search yeilded 4 possibilites: Lite On (LTC-48161H), TEAC (DW548D002), and Sony (CRX300E/B2).
I'll look into that ASUS..by the by (though I hesitate to ask such a numb-brain question), I've heard ASUS pronounced 2 ways: long u sound and short u sound...which one is right?

None of the above (hehe), just kiddin' m8. If you ca afford the Plex Premium (TLA# 0002), this is #1 for backing up Safedisc 2.9& SecuROM 4.8.3&up. The Plex Premium is the only cd burner that can do a 1:1 backup of SecuROM 4.8.3& up simply because it uses a different write technique called VariRec . All other cd burners use the TwinPeak write method when backing up Safedisc 4.8.3&up. Soo if you can afford da Plex Premium be sure you request TLA#0002 and if you get one that isn't TLA#0002 send it back .
Recommended cd burners for backing up cd protections: 1) Plextor Premium (TLA#0002)<a must
2,3) Asus 52x or LiteOn 52x
4,5) Memorex 52MAXX or Sony52x)
DVD Burner: 1) Plextor PX-708A
2) Ther is no other (at the moment)
