Hello i'm from canada and just recently got my sm 3.8 plus coder and magic keys 2 .

I'm having problems getting my ps2 to load sm 3.8 i have followed the tutorials and used the tissue and tape tutorial to tape down the sensor in my ps2 and no matter what i do my ps2 won't load the sm discs i turn it on and just go right to a blak screen for network confiruration and browser , my version is 75001 which is a slime mode v 14 i can't afford to go out right and spend more money to get a mod chip so this was my best option .

For calirifcation i have had no problems loading up my originals so i'm totally lose what to do

Could you post a link to the tutorial you are using please.
Do you have a friend with working backups that you can use to test that your tricks are working?

Alright, you'll get some help. But help us out, which mod do you want to use? Do you want to use the magic keys II or do you want to use the tissue and tape mod? I would suggest that if you have already purchased the magic keys II that you give them a go.
Also, could you post the link to the video you are following, I'd like to see which parts you are trying to install. Or better yet, did the site you purchased them from give you an online manual to follow? If so, post that too. I have the version 15 which allowed me to use the tool E. I'm betting that you may be having a problem with tool C or D in your version but I'd like those links to know for sure. Sorry, I'd look them up myself but I'm short on time tonight.

Blocked, as in like this? Where there is now two pieces sticking in the way?

If so, you may be using the wrong tool. If you follow that link posted by merwood, you'll get a better look at the different tools and how to use them.

yup it was blocked like that basically , But i want to give a update what i did was remove the magic keys and with the senor tab already blocked cause i used the tape and tissue guide only the senor tab is covered so i removed the magic keys put in the magic coder dvd disc cllosed the lid and was able to boot it , however after trying to swap discs it wouldidn't work cause i had piece 1 not in so i put that piece back in and now magic coder won't spin basically

Ok, there is still some confusion because you are still trying to do two mods at once while we are trying to help you get just the one going first.
Lets keep trying with the magic keys. You are installing all 3 parts, except the last one because the tool you have is blocked in the version of the ps2 you have. Your tools didn't come with the internal sensor cover and that's why you are trying to use tape on it to hold it down correct?
So you have both the brake blocked and the lid closed sensor depressed with tools as shown in the locations 1 and 2 in this picture right?

And then internally you are using tape to hold down the internal sensor.
I just want you to make sure to let us know that you certainly are at this point right? YOu haven't skipped a step here by accident is what I want to be sure of.

Ok, if you indeed are at this point; lets test something.
You put in a normal ps2 game and it works right? If you open the lid while it's playing, does the game stop spinning? If so, then your mod tools are not working properly.
Please get back to us with that info. Sorry, but it can be a rather troublesome process when things aren't working out as manuals describe them to. hehe

Okay location 3 i have taped down with duct tape as i opened the ps2 already and did so location 2 i have the right piece in there as well so mainly location 1 is the overall problem as i've been unsuccessful in as the lid closed sensor is just not working , and unfortunately the piece for location 1 somehow broke off so i am stuck with using the tissue for location 1 so far which has not been successful unless i'm doing something wrong mainly or just using too much tissue basically

If you have one of the newer slim PS2s (like the new silver ones or something) use DVD+R and use DVD-R for older versions. Try both of these and see how it works with your PS2.

Use Sony discs, verbatim, taiyo yuden, or ritek. like high quallity discs.
