i had a few channels the other day after some1 in the house was messin around with the d box 2.i tried doing a scan for the tv channels however no channels can be found.cant contact person who did it.wot cud they have done and how is it possible 2 get channels back.ne help wud b muchly appreciated thanx

its a nokia d box 2 using sportser image
im in ireland in an ntl area
i read somewhere that ntl had changed their key around the time i lost my channels
however one of my mates in the same estate as me stil has his channels.
i have tried scanning everything ie setting autoscan to on and off and manual scan to on off and searching every cable station with no joy

the 1st line on the scan transponder is cable
next line is transponders
3rd line is frequency
next line is provider
next line is channel
very last line has tv across from that is radio and data beside that and total

when i do a manual scan it is completely blank and when i do an auto scan it comes up with 188 transponders but at the end it has no channels were found

Disable fast scan, manual scan and so on and choose the right provider in the provider line.

yes both fast and manual scan were turned off at the same time and i searched all cable providers (cable uk sym6952and cable uk sym6887) i also scanned for all services no channels were found

If you get absolute nothing via a sym6887 scan there is something wrong with the cable feed or the box. Maybe someone botched the dbox settings.

ok well it seems to have found 107 channels thank god but i have lost around 30 channels including most of the sky movie channels.if i do a manual search on that cable station and i dont get those channels is there anything else i can do.do u have a guide u cud send me on so i dont have to bother u.i greatly appreciate ur help here

Use the latest irish cable.xml and select the right provider in the provider line.

Upload the unzipped cables.xml to /var/tuxbox/config at the box, reboot the box and select NTL cable Dublin or NTL cable W+G in the provider line.

Simply use an FTP client, connect to the box, user is root and password dbox2, select the right sub folder and upload the file.
