What is the best program to rip DVD directly to VCD/SVCD. Has anyone tried DVDx? It's freeware and rips a DVD directly to VCD or SVCD. It's ripped movies which I've had trouble getting SmartRipper or any other program to work properly on. Is there anything better?

I've tried several different programs to rip dvd's to mpeg2, and DVDx is the best I've found so far.
Tho any ripper u use is going to take a while to do its thing, it will, as u mentioned, rip dvd's that others won't.

Not to mention that DVDx is one of a few programs I've managed to find that support conversion to MPEG-2 and remain free.

DVDx is freeware, available through the AfterDawn downloads section. You have to go to the next page to find it though. If for some reason its not listed anymore, it's also available at www.doom9.org
