How do you do this? I read thousnds of forums and it always talks about ss and FTP files. And there is 3 methods I found. My drive is a flashed Hitachi. What is the best may to create 360 back-ups?

Buy the Samsung SH-D162C Drive flashed w/ Kreon .81 FW... for your PC off EBAY... then use Xbox Backup Creator or Schtrom to dump your originals... then you can burn the ISO w/ any Dual Layer Burner on DL Media...

Very easy to use...... the software FULLY Stealth Patches your backups...

I can dump a game in less than 10 min and burn it at 4X in around 20 to 25 min....

Good Luck!

the above is the easiest method you will get. What you were reading about FTP was for original Xbox and not the 360.

The SS file is a security sector file. If you use the above method you will never have to worry about this because it always makes a stealth back up (meaning it has the required SS, DFI & PMI files) which you need for Hitachi drives. Also when getting a DVD burner (the above is only DVD-Rom and will only read discs not burn them) you need to get one that can "booktype" the media. Look at BenQ and find an internal burner that can use a program they have called Qsuit because that will booktype the media. Last time i checked you HAD to booktype the DVD+R DL disc to DVD-Rom on a Hitachi drive in order for your back up to work.
Here are some guide that you can read through.

They can answer a lot of questions including how to back up games. The 360 quick links thread is extremely useful.

very easily, the program i use you can set it from 2.4X to the disc max, which in my case is 6X. If you have a disc that the max speed is 2.4X then that is as fast as you can burn it. Also different burners may give different results. I personally always use IMGburn V2.1 and Verbatim DVD+R DL and they has yet to fail me.
