I know it's possible to split a movie DVD-9 but can it be done with an application DVD-9, where the disc has to be in the DVD player to run the program?

Specifically the program is a Mitchell's auto repair manuals.

And if it's possible which would be the best program to do the splitting?

Thank you very much.

If it has to be in a DVD player, then it is still a movie. Is it just slide shows of text? It might be a picture DVD. I have never messed with those (don't own any), but you should still be able to split it with VobBlanker.

It has to be in my computers DVD drive and it is a little more than just slides, it is part of a full scale program which profesional shops use to diagnosis and repair all models and makes of cars and trucks. I don't see how it could be a movie. I tried DVDfab and Fly DVD ripper already to try to split it however I could get them to even start to burn. I think because they recognized that it wasn't a movie. Thanks for the advice I will check out that one.

These are just plain files. You can split it any way you want as a data DVD. But then again, if it is meant as a full installation program on a DVD-9, splitting it to DVD-5 is not a good idea as the installation process may not work, depending on what files it needs to access. So I guess you need to evaluate the DVD before splitting. Otherwise, do a 1:1 copy.

Oh, just a plain DVD-ROM with no video at all??

Can you take a screen shot of the DVD directory? After inserting the DVD, go to "My computer" and right click on the drive and select "browse". Then hit "Alt+Print Scrn" to take a screen shot. After that, paste the screen shot in WordPad, MS Paint, or whatever else lets you paste pictures. You can paste by hitting "ctrl + v". Then upload the image to imageshack.us since you will not need to register. If there are more directories, take screen shots of those so it will be easier to see what we are dealing with.

Depending on how it is set up, splitting it can be a piece of cake or an epic battle!!
