I'm getting a ps2, if I get a slimline, and want to load games from hdd using dev. 2. What would I need to do? Since the slimline has an ethernet port instead of a slot for the network adapter.

Also, would I need to do any mods to the lens to prevent it from burning out in the future? If I decide to get a large ps2 model, would I need to do some kind of laser fix on that as well?

Forget about DMS4 Pro SE, get crystal chip.

And to play games of the HDD using slimline, you gotta have a v12 or a v13 slim PS2, because only these can the...

Laser fix is only for V12 PS2 models
If you do not have a V12 or V13 then no chip will work to load your hard drive as they have programs meant for an internal hard drive and all other models you can only use external hard drives. Even with a V12 or V13 you need a whole new case called HD Combo to install the drive internally.

DMS4 Pro SE works great with a fat model PS2 and hard drive, or even a V12/V13 with the HD Combo case and internal drive.

Crystal chip V2.0 also has a program that can do it.

My suggestion is to go here:

Buy the used, Premodded V7 PS2 as it will make you much happier than a slimline model. (DMS4 Pro SE or Crystal Chip V2.0). They are widely considered to be the best model the Sony made. I just happen to own one myself and it still works. I bought it when it first came out.
