Legal Softmod XBOX 1.6

What is the best, legal way to softmod an XBOX with a version of 1.6. I seemed to only find ones that work for earlier versions, or that come with a XDE dashboard, causing it to be illegal. Is it possible to legally softmod a XBOX version 1.6 and put linux on it?

softmodding an xbox period is illegal. your not allowed by contract to modify your console in anyway.

Besides, xbox 1 is an obsolete system therefore its not illegal to modify the box. It all depends on the practices of the user that would breach into copyright law. Making backups of games that you do not own and selling such copies or downloading from the net.

wrong. xbox terms of service says that modifying the way the system works in anyway is illegal. and the original xbox is not at all obsolete. until xbox 360 can run homebrew the way the original xbox can, then this xbox will always have the attention of thousands of people.

If you put it that way then, yes. Just like ripping music and dvd. The term does apply but depending on which country the user resides within such copyright is enforced but often overlooked just like the app AnyDVD.
