its mixed.....I am and have no problem but nothing is certain in this game. AT ALL! So take it for what it is because no one here is Billy Boy (I think) and no one can tell you for sure that you will be safe using a banned hard drive. So if your worried about getting rebanned i wouldn't do it....if you want to live on the edge go ahead and do it!

The best option is to format your hard drive ,just to be on the safe side.

i have used a hdd from a banned xbox in a non banned xbox from day two of bannings and i have had no problems.

do it at ur own risk but i use my hdd from my banned modded box on my core also so havent been banned for using it so up to u....
