I would like to play backup games. Should I get a chip and solder it onto my xbox360, or should I flash the firmware? ...which method is the best? ...or do I have to do both?
flashing firmware is by far the best and easiest way to go. if you don't have sata on your computer just buy a 15 dollar sata pci card(via 6421), have no worries, and also way cheaper than the globe or nme chip. trust and TONS of support for it here. can't ask for more.

You can get one cheap from ebay(usally, it's where I got mine) if not then almost any large PC place sells them. But remember, do not go on xbox live with copied games, you will get banned
