Vista wont reconize my mp3 player

Hello everytime i connect my mp3 player in vista i get error saying vistad does not reconize device. I have been into device manager and in there it says mass storage device with a explanation mark i have tryed installing drivers but no luck as mp3 player should be plug and play and works fine in xp?? any ideas
