The game is protected with Safedisc (I don't know the version exactly) and when I burn it properly it works. Then I patch it and blam! It ups the protection to... GOD knows what and it will not run. No matter what. How can I detect what the protection is, now that it is patched? Or does anybody KNOW? :)

ClonyXXL is pretty much the de-facto basic cd protection scanner and allows users to determine the protection scheme used on a game. For ClonyXXL to work properly, one needs to have a properly installed ASPI layer (for more information regarding ASPI, see http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/aspisetup.cfm). Yes. I know. But my question is, how can I know what version of Safedisk the PATCH installs. Clony tells me the game has Safedisc "ab v2.51" and I can burn + run the game but when I patch it, it tells me to insert the correct cd. So again: how to determine the protection the patch adds?

Grab SafeDisc Analyzer 3.4 or even with clonyxxy, have it scan installed files after it reads the cd.
