Hey everyone, when I convert an AVI, or mpg to DVD, the screen size never fits. When I put it on the computer it works fine. But on a DVD player, it always looks like it's zoomed in. I tried converting it in both widescreen and fullscreen. None of them work.

I've tried with ConvertXtoDVD and WinAVI.

any ideas? thanks

With ConvertX 'Settings' are you choosing the correct 'TV format'?
If you have a standard screen select 4:3 as the 'TV Screen'.

Yeah, I tried that, with both programs. It still didn't fix the problem though. I don't know what else to check.

Did you try the dvd on another standalone player?

Yea I tried on a different DVD player, and still got the same results.

The top is the DVD (which was an AVI widescreen 9:5)as displayed on the PC.
Lower is the DVD as displayed on my TV.
It looks 'zoomed' because in ConvertX I selected 16:9 (widescreen) for my TV type instead of 4:3.
If I had selected 4:3, it would show a 'letterbox' image.

Hmm, I'll try again, maybe I made a mistake and didn't change it. Although I'm pretty sure I did, but I'll try again and let you guys know.

Thanks
