My friend and I are about to shoot a movie with a panasonic DVX100B.

We are trying to make the movie look as close to film as possible, so we are going to incorporate fake widescreen. I'm wondering if it's smarter to use the fake widescreen through the camera, so that during shooting I can see the the shots as they will actually appear, or if I should record in full screen then implement fake widescreen through editing. This way I'd still have the option to use full screen if for some reason we ever needed it.

Any thoughts or opinions?
