i got the red screen of death but i managed to fix because of the recovery mode. I rebooted back to 3.40 OE-A. Everything looks back to normal. Is there a problem on my psp now that i should be aware of?

No, RSOD basically means that flash0 couldn't be re-written all the way. Nothing to be afraid about.
