Anyone had a game disk crack while playing?

I was playing forza 2 last night and after about 2 hours my console froze. I turned it off and on again but the game failed to load. When i took the disk out I noticed it had a crack either side of the centre hole, about an inch & half each side and I know it wasn't that way when I put it in the console!!!

has anyone else ever encountered this?
it was a back up on a Verbatim disk.

never heard of them cracking...

but this is a prime example of why we make backups for everyone who just thinks were pirates. Its in case something like this happens.

yeh totally agree with that ^^

i never had a disk crack during gameplay but i had a disk just randomly scratch when it was spinning in the drive. i heard a funny noise and the game froze. i thought nothing more of it and re-booted the console to find the game wouldnt load. i took the disc out to find a huge scratch on the disk. this was really annoying as this was before my console was flashed and was an ORIGINAL game! that is the exact reason why i now take backups of all my games ;)

sounnd sjust like what happened to me, other than my disk actually cracked! I have never heard of this but thought someone may have had it happen to them. I'm just glad it wasn't the original!

I had a disk crack, it was a matrix dvd dl. I didnt even notice it till one day it didnt load. Its just a fluke incident that happens everyonce in a while, and yes this is why i would back up game.

nah mate, i have mine lying down on its side so it doesnt move at all.

Its probably something technical. If Microsoft had'nt moade such a shambles of our consoles no one would have any problems with their 360.
