Want to use a seagate harddrive to play music through my Playstation. Is this possible? Have AVI, mpegs, etc. Please help thanks

If you have a network adaptor, you can buy a 4 pin HDD and connect it to the the network adaptor and connect it to the PS2. But you must have an exploit to boot up the media player...

Oh yes you can use a USB drive too...

An older PS2's Network Adapter is very hard to find. Ever since the slim ps2 came out, these adaptors haven't been made. You might be lucky to find one used at gamestop/eb games or you can buy one at ebay.

There are a few ways to boot up the media player.

1.Buying the latest version of swap magic.

2.Modding your PS2 with an inferior modchip.

3.Using a memory card exploit.

Ask in the software boot forum how to use method 3. Or you can use method 1 or 2 which are much much easier.

oh sorry last question. How will it appear on the playstation? Will there be some idication so i know what video/movie is what or will it be the blocks like it is when i put in a music cd inwhich i have no idea what im playing?

Um... well a memory card exploit involves installing a file to the memory card and using a PS1 game to boot it up. So it won't show up as everything... basically when you boot up the media player it'll show the Graphical User Interface and you load programs from your HDD if your media player supports it.
