hello,
i have a stand alone divx player (tokai dvd550dx)my question is , if it is possible to read the subtitles whit it of divx movies and if so in which format.

It depends on your player. Read the manual or go the website of the manufacturer and find out if it can playback subtitles. If not, then look for firmware updates that will allow it to do so.

Also post this question in the DVD Hardware board, maybe someone there has the same dvd player that you have and answer your question.
