i bought two movies, better luck tomorrow, and the italian job, and i have a dvd+r drive, i backed up the better luck tomorrow movie easy with dvd decrypter, and then i tried backing up the italian job, and it copied the iso or whatever, but then about three quarters of the way through burning it on a dvd+r, it had an error, any body got any suggestions why? also it is still saved, the decrypter did not erase them, so im wondering do i still have it saved in my computer and i could now burn it without the dvd, or watch it on my computer?

you are using decrypter and what else. You will need to compress the movie also to get it to fit on a dvd+r disc.

The movie should be saved on your hard drive whereever you put the files. You don't need the movie dvd anymore once you have decrypted it. Windvd is capable of letting you watch it from the files on the computer.

What are you using to burn the dvd+r with. Most people do not use the burning engine that comes with decrypter as it is not very good. You will find a lot of support for Nero and recordnow (I use recordnow). Check out Oriphus' guides:

well, i have Nero 6, but i dont use it, i just use the decrypter by itself, i copied better luck tomorrow, and it worked fine just using DVD Decrypter, maybe its a smaller file i guess, so i have it decrypted on my computer still, so now i just should use Nero? or does it still have to be compressed?

Most commmercial dvds are dual layer or DVD-9 which have up to 9.4 gb of info on them. single layer dvds are DVD-5 have 4.7 on them. All dvd+/-r are currently single layer although dual layer technology may be on the horizon. So I suspect that the Italian Job would require 2 dvd+r to copy it without compression.

Most commercial dvds will require compression to fit them on one dvd+r. Popular compression programs are DVD Shrink (free) or DVD2One. DVD Shrink will rip and compress. (It is what I use). When you look at the folder that you put the italian job in, check the size. I suspect that it is too big to fit on one dvd+r.

I would use Nero 6 as in the guide I referenced above as most people find the DVD Decrypter burning engine to be not so good.

If you were using DVD Decrypter to read and then burn the DVD, I suspect you were using the iso setting, which creates one big image file of the disc, and not individual ifo's and vob's. If this is the case I don't believe you can shrink and burn it once created. In other words you have to re rip from the original. Unless someone knows of a program that can extract the files from an iso ??

Regarding the comment that DvdDecrypter has a not so good burning engine. What makes it a poor tool to burn with? Better yet why or what makes another program better?
