I have to agree with Rotary (stephanie - this weekend..LMAO) and Bodene....
I used to have a VERY faithful Pioneer 103, but gave it to my dad, just upgraded to the one Rotary has - no issues - plus the advantage of both formats.....
NOTHING is really the best, as it all depends on your setup/media etc.....
Many people have different process which work well, some people try and use the same process and it falls over.....
However, if you are just starting out then I think Dvd Shrink is the best foot forward as Rotary suggested....as it is free and also gives you a little insight on dvd structuring and not just doing the process behind the scenes (if you know what I mean)......
Again when it comes to burning software - most program vendors give you the options of obtaining a trial version first - A must in my opinion to try out......
Look at the guide Rotary suggested, this will shed a little more light on whats involved..
The media is hit and miss, and mostly dependent on the player - the PC will play a cat if you shoved it in the tray.....so down to player really.....
I use Ritek GO4 dye based discs - like Traxdata or just unbranded Ritek GO4, but the only opinion I have is that the darker the dyed surface, then the more solid decoding of information you wil get........
Bodene, no need to get irritated over them just point them in the right direction.......every little helps....
Hope this helps....
...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............
Beware of the Pixies - they move in over night and turn your life upside down
