When the ps2 logo shows, it immediately goes away, as if I pressed start. so I put in another game to see if my start button was jammed, and it wasn't.

the media is fine, I have used it for tons of other games. the media is verbatim 16x advanced AZO DVD-R. I also used maxell 16x DVD-R. both times I burned at 4x. my chip is DMS3 and my firmware is 2.4 beta 7 or something like that. they kinda abandoned the firmware on dms3 after 4 came out =(

what can the problem be? I know my ps2 is old but I don't think it's the lens since it comes to the ps2 screen. I've tried both normal and fast boot and both PAL60 and no video mode changes.

any clues?
