Please could somebody tell me if their is a way to rip Languages,Subtitles e.t.c with Win XP as IFOedit does not seem to like XP. I'm new to this so hope I'm asking for information on the correct software, otherwise it would be a Windows 2000 re-install job if I can't find any software that can do the job, Please HELP !!! Thanks Paul.
Not sure if the answer I gave in the 1st reply was what you were looking for so I tried IFOEdit (91) on Windows XP professional and it works fine. Have you downloaded all the compatibility updates? You could always fool the program it was running under Windows 2000. Right click the program in explorer, choose properties and then the compatibility tag.
I've got XP ifoedit working now but now if I have the files from the DVD on my harddrive and its about 7gb with the ones I need to keep, how do I compress them abit keeping DVD quality or would I need to split them onto 2 dvdrs. Thanks
Paul.
Well, you could do it over 2 DVD's or you could re-encode the movie to a lower bitrate so it would fit on a 1 DVD. I use TMPGEnc with 2 pass VBR. It takes longer but the quality stand up OK.
Thanks Very Much mate, I've managed to do my 1st DVD Backup now...think I've got the jist of it now, hopefully no more frisbees, thanks once again Paul.
