Heres the real way to get Un-banned...I previously firmware hacked my Hitachi and it got banned around the same time they started mass banning everyone, so I called Microsoft and complained to them that I was wrongfully banned. I talked with a representative for about 30 mins telling them that "I was banned for no reason and my console couldn't have possbily been modded because it's never left my house." After talking with him he placed me on hold a couple of times and eventually concluded that their was nothing he could do to help. So I angrily asked to speak with a supervisor, at that point I was transfered to one. I then explained my problem again (the fact that I was banned etc.) SO after talking with a supervisor I started seeing results, she transfered me to an hardware tech which then asked me what the problem was and I gave them the error code that my 360 had displayed (which is the banned code). AFter talking with him he said that I would have to send in my 360, they sent me a box at which point I packed in the banned 360 and sent it off. After they received my banned console they sent me a brand new 360 that I received on 6-18-2007 with a different serial number and a free 1 month Xbox Live card. And yes my sticker had been tampered with when I flashed it (i cut the sticker with a razor blade along the opening line of the 360 so it wouldn't look so noticeable) and they still fixed/replaced it. I don't plan on sharing this with alot of people just in case they start seeing an increase in these same stories...heck I might get banned again, I'll do it once more if needed (which i know will work). When you talk to those Microsft reps it's good to ask and speak with a supervisor if you exausted ALL options, and make demands don't ask. Keep in mind that I was still under my regular warranty when I did this. Another good tip is to call and sound mad and say you've been hung up on several times...that'll help your situation more. Well that's how I got my 360 unbanned, and now I finish playing my Gears online (im using original disk until new hitachi firmware comes out then I'll play my other backups).

i think you shouldve waited till the hitachi firmware was out then ask for the 360, now you just have to wait, what if the firmware never works ;)
im fine w/o live, theres always xboxconnect for halo 2

Well this just confuses the hell outta me. fgamer I take it you flashed back to the original firmware before sending it back to MS?
Either way, there's no question MS have a way of detecting a modded console cause obviously there have been many bans. Surely though they would test your banned console when they got their grubby mitts on it and be able to detect that it had indeed been modded at some point? If they did you would expect them to tell you they'd caught you out and charge you for the return of your original console. Unless once the original firmware is back on they can no longer be sure? I guess no one really knows which is the problem we all have.
Was the replacement brand new or reconditioned? I've read loads of posts were people have legitmately sent broken consoles back and only been given a second hand one in return. This is the first time I've heard someone actually get a brand new one.
Seems you did pretty well from all of this.

How can you say you were unbanned? You weren't... you had to get the console replaced. That's totally different as it's not your Live account which is banned, it's the console, and the console wasn't unbanned.
You could've just called and said you had the 3 rings issue and you would've gotten the console replaced. But now they have you and your new 360 logged with a "banned" issue. I really doubt you'll have as much success the next time around.
Plus, now that you replaced your console which worked just fine with a reconditioned one, the chances are pretty good that you'll end up with a dead 360 soon. We've all read the horror stories about repaired 360's.

I think I used unbanned in the correct way, it was almost being used as an expresion so stop with the nonsense...and stop trying to be so negative, I was just sharing one of my stories that other people might find some interest in. Even if I sent it in saying 3 red lights that wouldn't have did any good because Microsoft fixes your 360 besides sending a refurb unit (it's their new policy). Just because they have me and my 360 logged as ban means nothing...they've already had me logged...duh that's how I got banned! Also, the 360 is NOT reconditioned/refurbished it's brand new as stated in the letter they sent me with my 360.

Don't get me wrong... it's good that you've been able to get back on Live. I'm sure everyone would agree. But you did title the thread Quote:

when in all actuality you didn't get unbanned at all. You just got back onto Live with a different console.
Also, I'm not saying you're lying, but if your console is brand new it'd be the very first one I've read about coming from the repair center since the launch of the 360. I've read about owners being on their 5th 360 and still haven't been provided with a new one. I can't understand how they'd send you a new one seeing how it's only made one trip to the graveyard (repair center).
But all that being said, it is nice that you were able to get back on Live. And without screwing the middleman (Walmart, Best Buy, where ever). Seems like people like hearing how MS gets shafted from time-to-time yet really frown on ripping off stores.

ITS NOT UNBANNED! just replacement console! unban would be if you took ur console and forced it onto xbox live after being banned!
you know how happy it would make people feel who are banned! change the title. thats a sad story if you go modding it don't expect m$ to replace it they shouldn't, but the games shouldn't be overpriced either. either way WTH who cares! just change the title because you might be giving people false hope lol!

My god you people are so scared of little ol Microsoft. Do you honestly think they're paying close attention to people who send in their 360's? They have much more to put their time into rather than going to court or investigating gamers who change a darn firmware on their dvd rom drive and send it in for repair. Keep in mind they have a choice to fix it or send it back un-fixed (explaining that it's been modded). Clearly they don't know (or care) that it's been hacked because they sent a new one...duh. And no, I will not change the title because in hind sight it's another form of getting un-banned, as I said before it's being used as an expression.

yea they won't waste there time there but they could get a list of names with your xbox 360 serial and call the whole list to court! that would be efficient and worth their time! thats what anti-piracy companies do they get a list of ips and call them to court!

Ok you're talking silly now, how will they prove that it's been hacked? Because their stupid technicians say so (we all know in the court of law you'd have to bring more evidence than that to the table) I flashed it back to it's original firmware before I sent it back. I just don't see them sending someone a new console if they felt they hacked their 360, I think your analogy is highly crazy and retarded! And, I think even you know your own comments are far fetched...so give me a break!

A new console doesn't equate to unbanning, its no different to any of us going out and buying a new box ourselves after being banned
Personally - I think your lying, I spend a lot of time in xbox forums - not a single person I've seen post has been unbanned or sent a new console.

Well, as I said before they sent me a new 360 weather you wan't to believe me or not. I didn't have to say that I changed it back to orig.bin because common sense should've told you that obviously I didn't send it in with a hacked firmware. The reason you don't see many posting in these forums about getting a replaced 360 is because none of them have the balls to send in their 360 to Microsoft because they're scared the big M will come to their house with the FBI. And how the hell do you know if I'm a pirate or not? Anyways I don't download/pirate games off the net like some do, I rent them and then burn them to disk.. that's called borrowing a copy. And don't act like you're not pirating in your own way...cuz I'm sure you have 100's of songs you downloaded off of Limewire so save that anti-piracy mumbo-jumbo for someone who cares! You guys had a choice to read my post or buzz off without leaving your negative imature kiddie comments. Once again the title fits my discription perfectly.

No, the reason there arn't alot of people trying this is because the ones who have been caught generally understand that they broke the M$ live TOS and don't really have a leg to stand on

Well, as I said before I don't have to make stuff like this up...what purpose would that serve? Anyways, I don't really care if I broke Microsofts TOS as they've been screwing enough people over with these faulty Xbox 360 consoles (including myself). I think people like you and the MPAA who try to equate music file SHARING etc. as stealing and consider it a horrible crime needs to get a life and revaluate what REAL crime actually is! I was joking obviously when I said "borrowing a copy." I should've known someone like you, that's incompetent would let that fly right over your head.
