need to format my HDD to FATX to read?

HI i am a new to 360 stuff, i have a 120GB laptop hard drive and i am putting it in a broken 360 HDD case to work on my 360 i also have a usb case for it to plug it into my comp. I was trying to get it to work and it said that I need to format the drive to FAT-X instead of FAT-32 if
there is a link you could provide me with or any info at all about how i could do this that would be great!
