Hey guys!!
i've recently got Halo and would like 2 make a backup. The problem is that i've read other peoples wonderful articles on how 2 back up protected disc's but im commin up with problems of my own.
I first use ClonyXXL 2 find out what protection is on the disc (Safedisc 2.7),then go to Alcohol(version 1.4.7 or 1.4.3) and use the Image making wizzard and set the Datatype setting and then select where I want my image and what type of image it should be. But now it gets weird when it starts 2 read the disc it get's into BLOCK 816(1.6 MB) it starts having DISC READ ERROR and then I just cancel the copy and get confused about the whole ordeal.I have also tryed to make a image file using Clone CD software which gives me the same problem.
Iam Using a PIONEER DVR-104 DVD-RW drive.
I had this same problem when I backed it up, just let the errors keep comming, I did, and my copy works fine. I think it goes back and fixes them later. Hope it works out ok.
I tried the method of letting the errors keep commin but the dvd drive is very very slow @ reading the sectors of the cd(0.1x) and it took and hour just to get to 4%!!! is this the way to go about it and wait for 6 hours for it to make the image file.??? or is ther a faster method??
Is a "1 sheep dvd burner" so if using Alcohol 120%, go to general> options>data type settings>enable Bypass efm error. Enable skip read errors in the read process as the extraction time still may be slow during the first 1-10,500 sectors of Halo (or 3%). After that reading will speed up. Burn RAW DAO at 8x. Open Alcohol 120% and go to general>option>emulation>enable ignore media type. Go to extra emulation and enable bad sector emulation and minimize Alcohol 120% to system tray (startup)< a must . Play backup in your Pioneer.. Too bad you bought the Pioneer dvd burner m8. The Plextor PX-708A dvd-burner= "2 sheep burner, needs no emulation to play bckups of Safedisc 2.8-2.9 You need the aid of emulation (software) to play your backups of Safedisc 2.x cd protection. With Plextor PX-708A= you don't.
