Hi,

I just have a quick question. On the dvd2one settings you can choose constant ratio or variable ratio. Is the variable ratio like vbr in the mp3 world. Which option will produce the best results.

Any help is alway apreciated

Thanks Guys

I go by what I saw at the DVD2one website: h**p://www.dvd2one.com/ratio.php
Quote:
Variable Ratio ('old' engine, as found in DVD2one V1.0 and V1.1). Recommended for Full Disk Copy mode.
Constant Ratio ('new' engine, introduced in DVD2one V1.2). Recommended for Movie-only mode, especially for long movies (2 1/2 hours and more).

But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave."

Yeah, but that conflicts with itself. Firstly they tell you to use Variable for the full disk mode. But they tell you to use constant for movies over two hours. Then i ask - what if you are doing full disc for a 2 hour movie. I think variable is a better method as it gives us a higher quality image during faster moving scenes...

Yes, I agree but I don't do full discs so I haven't got to that conflict yet ;)
