hi all, new on here.
just got a Nokia d-box 2 ( ? ) from the bay of E, plugged it in and came up with 30 channels, but no picture or sound. tried the tuning thing but it keeps asking me to " enter code". I contacted the guy for the code but it doesn't work...any ideas gratefully accepted.
btw....it's on ntl cable.
as I said I'm new to this, so bear with me please and make the suggestions simple ..LOL

No simple answer mate

Hi,

There are 2 methods to find the pincode on a dbox2

either FTP into var/tuxbox/config and view neutrino.conf, look for parentallock_pincode=####

the #### is the pincode.

If you want you can do it from the dbox
Choose Tuxbox Commander
var ok
tuxbox ok
config ok
scroll down to neutrino.conf ok
then scroll down to the line, it is in alphabetical order.
home
home
Have a go of that or just reflash
Ime sure ile hear from you again.............Paul

thanx paul but....you say I can do it from the d-box ? this is the problem....can't do anything from the box, all that happens when I switch on is :
after starting what looks like windows checking system, the front screen ( at the mo ) says premplus1, if i try any menu options, 1 to 0, except ABOUT, it just asks for a code. the only other thing I can do is toggle between this and a screen that says SAT/DVD, can't do nothing else and there are no images showing, like other people seem to have.
ooops, didn't mean to sound so sorry for myself LOL

sorry m8, have been wrongly advised, after checking some sites out....I have actually got a Nokia d-box 1 and NOT d-box 2.
however fault is still the same, does this make a big difference or should I just put it in the skip ?

no worries m8, only cost me a tenner, just thought it was worth a go. anyway, could I use it as a second freeview type box for the kids ?
if so, how would I find out what the code is ? can I unlock it ? or do I need to pay the local conman, sorry expert..LOL
