I was just looking through some old threads and saw this one and though I would shed some light on the subject as it didnt seem to have a final say.
Well people here it is.
Yet another bug from Microsoft! XP doesnt like showing thumbnails of folders that have large file content such as a folder full of AVI's or Pics, Jpeg and the like.
In other words if you receive the dreaded message.
Windows Explorer has encounterd a problem and needs to close
Simply go to the view drop down of the folder in question and change the view from Thumbnails the List and the problem should be resolved.
If this is happening on all folder you will have the change the way you view all folders.
Hope this is the final say on that subject LOL....
