Bought a while ago 100-pack of these, opened the pack couple of days ago. So far 11 discs burner with whopping 100% failure rate.

Burner used: Pioneer A05 with latest official (non-hacked) firmware

Software used: Nero 5.5.x

Tests: Burned at 2x with Nero and checked the validation -- all 11 discs failed the validation, most of them at around 50-60% of the validation completed.

Media code: MXLRG01

Laughing my arse off again. I thought you would have learnt from the Datawrite Red tops (datasafe) that they have a high failure rate. Here are some links for you dRD; to sort you out :D

Try to buy unbranded Ritek if on a budget - or Traxdata (balnkdicshop) / CloneDisc (dvd-and-media) - my favourite

Heh, my point is NOT to buy discs that I know, afterall I kinda need to know good and bad discs as I have this funny little thing underneath my nick in these forums :-)

Just ordered a mixture of four different brands, 25 each, 75 out of those _claim_ to be Ritek dye discs and one Princo dye. But we'll see :-)

And ye, I do burn "quite" a lot of DVDs :-)

Glad to know you are testing them. However, when you said 'Buy' them, i assumed they were for personal use. Since i get free DVD's all the time from different companies to test, i also assumed a massive website like this, with you being the boss and all, that you could get a lot fo them free to test.

Are you forgetting to abuse your powers as one of the biggest DVD Forums around. If it was me id be getting everything free, free softwre, hardware, cars, houses (well maybe not cars or houses), women :-D, etc...

Nah, we rarely request any stuff from companies, puts us in position too easily where we feel that we're obliged to recommend some companies. Instead we buy the discs and get companies to advertise on our site :-)

Really....I see the point about not being able to say bad things (well grudgingly) about stuff you hae gotten, but can you really see yourself saying anything bad about a Pioneer DVR106??

Im thinking you should request a Pioneer DVR107 for testing :-D
