I'm assuming you're new to the whole backup DVD thing with the PS2. Just a little tip, it's been asked how to backup PS2 games before and there's even a sticky of it on this site, so next time search before asking.

Go here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/367906

It has pics and very clear instructions. Hope all works out.

backup ps2 games? i dont think he's talking about backing up ps2 dvd's, i think he's talking about the original metal gear games, hence the NES and SNES thread title.

if you're indeed talking about the REAL metal gear 1 and 2 then youll need:

a ps2 NES emulator for Metal Gear 1.
and a ps2 SNES emulator for Metal Gear 2: Snakes Revenge

which might be hard to find, i thought that MG2 for snes only came out in japan. i'm probably wrong though.

by the by, you could just buy MG solid 3: subsistance, which has an emulated version of MG 1 on it, and i think MG2, but the MG2 might only be on the japanese version.

let me dig around for a bit, and ill get back to you on some walkthroughs.

[edit] as a quick reference later, this is a current running title list for the MG series:

Metal Gear (nes)
Metal Gear Snakes Revenge (snes [jap?])
Metal Gear Solid (ps1)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (gamecube)
Metal Gear Ghost Babel (gbc)
Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (ps1)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (ps2)
Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 (ps2)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (ps2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (ps2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (ps2)
Metal Gear Solid 4: The Guns Of The Patriots (ps3)
Metal Gear Solid Graphical Novel (psp)
Metal Gear Solid Graphical Novel 2 (psp)
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (psp)
Metal Gear Ac!d (psp)
Metal Gear Ac!d 2 (psp)

i thought thats what you were talkin about ;]=

you will need snes-station, imbnes and two blank cd-rs

for the snes emulator snes-station and instructions are here
for the NES emulator imbnes and instructions are here

snes station, for all intents and purposes, will let you play snes roms on your ps2. imbnes lets you play nes roms on your ps2.

i cannot tell you where to aquire the roms though, as it is against this forum's policies. so you will have to find them on your own.

if you have any questions lemme kno! ;]=

you can put more than one nes or snes rom on a disc,
but being as you are new to all this, i'd recommend you
keep the nes and snes roms on separate discs with their own emulators.

Never. Impossible to emulate the gamecube on the PS2 because of the lack of performance. The gamecube has a faster processor and that being said, there isn't one feature that can help emulate the gamecube.
