Is this 360 flashing via laptop guide legit?

OK so my desktop went to the giant radio shack in the sky and all I have now is my laptop to work with. So i found this guide and was going to order the parts I need i.e. Sata-usb and the xecuter connectivity kit, but I wanted to know if this guide is what I should follow.

Also do I need anything else? My laptop is running windows xp and its pretty new. I do not have a floppy drive is that ok? Also do I need anything else he does not mention in the tut?

ive flashed my hitachi 0047 with a laptop with a sata to usb cable. only certain drives can do that, up to 0049 i believe.

but you can get a pcmi sata card for you laptop and itll work.
