SNES Emulator problem

I use the Snes emulator for psp the ME version and when ever i wanna just put my psp to "sleep" it will not stay go in sleep it will just turn the screen black,,,,eventually it will slowly drain my battery....is this susposed to happen? Dose it happen to you? or is there a setting i can fix this??

i dont think you can put it in sleep mode when using the snes emu. iv never been able to with any version or psp iv tried it with.
