PS2 won't power on!!!

Recently I had ripped my reset/eject ribbon cable and had ordered another one online and replaced it but now it won't power on, no lights on or display on TV. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

how many pins does the cable wat version is ur ps2 is ther to msny pins not enough it should be 32 pins

are you sure the ribbon has only 7 pins also check for scorch marks are dull colored solder around the connector make sure where the controller port meets the ribbon that there is no residue or any broken off ribbon but im pretty sure that the whoe controller port mught be broken if thats the case il look for an extra 1 and maill it to u if you like
