The PSP opens then shows the "sony entertainment" screen then a few seconds it shuts off.

Is thsi fixable?

What firmware? Can you access recovery?

i don't think it can access recovery. As for the firmware version, since I am asking this in behave of my friend, i have to find out which firmware it is.

But it is strange since I know all bricked PSPs don't show the "Sony Entertainment" screen before turning off.

well if youve customised your xmb then you could have corrupted imporatnt files, except for the logo...
