forgot to finalize dvd+rs

My dvd recorder is broken and i have a HOLE heap of unfinalized dvds i didnt get to finalize,is there a way to finalize the discs using Nero? as theres important stuff on the dvds..

They have to be finalized on the original recorder.
There are programs that can recover (not finalize) the files on the disk.
I don't know of any free programs that do this.

CDRoller is able to recover the video data (VOB or VRO files) from the discs created by standalone DVD recorders. In order to read the "troubled" or non-finalized DVD discs, you should use the computer DVD-RW drive (dvd writer) instead of DVD-ROM drive (dvd reader). At first, we recommend to use Recover DVD Video option from the File Menu and follow the displayed instructions "step by step". Also, you can follow the instructions from the chapter 6.9 in User's Manual or Help File, trying some options from the forced scan list. To convert the recovered VOB or VRO files into MPEG ones, you can use Split Vdeo option. Further, just load MPEG files into your DVD mastering software and create a new DVD with recovered video.

does that mean i can get back what i recorded and finalize it on my new dvd recorder?

The files would be extracted from the unfinalized disks then copied to a new disk on the PC.
As I understand it, disks which are recorded on a standalone DVD recorder have to be finalized on the machine that made the recording.
