Previously successful softmod now not working - help!

I've been using the SD Gecko and Action Replay softmod to boot GCOS via SDLoad for a few months now. Given the reading up I did before I started it has gobne remarkably smoothly. Although I've been getting a few in-game crashes, I've never had a failure in terms of the image not booting.

However, about a fortnight ago a game of super mario strikers suddenly crashed on me, so I switched of my cube. Since then I've only been booting original game discs and my SD Gecko and SD card have sat nearby to my cube, waiting for its next action. Yesterday I put the SD Gecko into my cube and loaded AR. I pressed 'A' to start game as SDLoad was still in the memory as the last game booted from AR. I got the message to open and then close the lid, which I did, and then I just got a black screen, with no sign of SDLoad.

I reset the cube and this time I went into the codes section of AR. I entered my SDLoad folder, moved down so that SDLoad was highlighted, and then pressed 'start' on my controller. SDLoad kicked in and GCOS booted up. I tried booting a new game image that I hadn't tried before and after successfully selecting 60hz mode and seeing the Nintendo logo, the thing hung and started making an unpleasant sound.

I switched off and on again and tried SDLoad again, and all I got was black screen, and that's all I've been getting ever since. I've checked my SD card on my pc and it still has the correct files on it, so I don't know what to do.
I've checked the 29 entry code and it's all still there on my AR card, so what should I do now?
