I would like to know which media works best at the 4x speed when using Sony DRU10A to make a dvd cop¡e¿

Dude, Welcome to the nightmare that is Sony when it comes to achieving 4X on a Sony. A lot of people recommend the Ritek G04's, but I have order 2 batches from 2 different venders with the same result, no 4X. I have achieved 2X with TDK 2X DVD-R , so I would recommend them. The Ritek G03's are rated at 1X, but there have been reports that you can achieve 2X with them...Other than that, buy at your own risk.

Thanks. I used Maxell and they burned at 4x. they are expensive though. Well I guess I look and see if can get them cheaper than what i paid for them. do you know where i can get maxell cheap online?

What ever you do don't buy Datewrite 4x Red Top's they are a complete waste of time in Sony burners.
I've not found any reasonable priced 4x speed dvd's yet that will burn in a Sony even with firmware 2.0g.
Datawrite grey top 2x speed are great, I get no coasters using these, but of course only at 2x.
Bought some Vertabim 2x but 50% of these didn't even burn properly!
But as just been said welcome to the Sony Burn problem, so fussy with the media it's not worth it.

i have the sony dru510a drive and burned with memorex 4x dvd-r without any problems.
writes a 4.7g movie in about 14 mins, do u know if that is 4x's or 2.4x's speed?
