Hello there! I'll try to give as much information as I can, sorry for the bad and non technical english.
I have a GC (rev A) with a Qoob chip. When I installed the chip, the VG was 3 years old, and I really had played it a lot. After the chip, and a few hours (250-350) my GC stop reading discs, any of them, original, backups, +R,-R, nothing that I put on it was read.
So I went to a friend's house and swaped the entire drive (don't know if it is the right name, I mean the top part that sits on top of CPU). Well, for my surprise my GC start working again. What a relief, so it was only my optical unit right? Well, after spending 50 bucks (In Brazil its way more expense then US :( ) on a brand new optical unit, I've changed it and nothing has changed. Tried to adjust the POT (which I did before as well) nothing.
Now I have 2 optical units (that seems to be working), and could not find the problem.
Could someone else give me some advice on what else could be messed up?

Regards
