I have psp which is version 2.81.... I have read many posts on afterdawn but am still confused.

youv got two choices,
1: upgrade to 3.03 then downgrade to 1.5( you will need an unpatched version of gta;lcs)
2: upgrade to 3.50 then downgrade to 1.5( you will need lumines)

if you choose the first method, have a look at the first link in my sig.

Ok first question is which is better the option 1) or 2) and if its 2) how do I use lumines to achieve this? do I need to check if it a patched or unpatched version etc

How does one tell if theres 2.0 update? ie via settings? system? etc

hello.
iv just downgraded one myself.
i used the gta method and downgraded from 3.03 to 1.5 in about 10minutes.
iv never done it the other way so my advice is go for the gta method as iv used it many times and i no myself 100% that it works.
you can find out if youv got a unpatched version of gta by putting the umd in and in your xmb going to the game tab and going down to the update(under select umd and above the memory stick) and it will either say somet about updating to 2.0 or 2.6. it needs to say 2.0.
