Backup of Gameshark(or other cheat device) with Matrix Infinity?

I got a Gameshark when it first came out for PS2. I still have the little memory card dongle, but the disk is scratched to hell. Also, my PS2 has a weak laser, so it can't read it.

Can I burn a backup of a Gameshark CD, or perhaps some other code device, and use it on my PS2? The only thing my PS2 really reads these days is Verbatim DVD-Rs. Since I still have the memory card dongle and everything, would it work?

Well, i have crystal chip and Action Replay MAX backup and it works. Worth a try.
