PDR stands for protected disc recorder. It lets you burn DVDs,CDs, and Blu Ray discs with a special thing that makes the PS2 thing they are legal discs, so it would direct boot them.

its an actual drive, so i dont think you could download it.

why? not comfortable with a soldering iron? i know its pretty tough, considering i dont have steady hands myself. but it's a heck of a lot of fun, and the finished product, well, theres nothin like knowing that you did something like that, and it worked. ;]=
