Swap magic coader will not boot / load

Ok, first off i am a newbie so please be patient with me... I have read around, have not directly seen the answer to this so heres my question...

I own a slim line ps2 model number scph-70012. I have never had a problem backing up my games (thanks ALOT to the people that has discussed numerous ways to do this!) But i have been having issues about my swap magic coder not booting up every time.

I can play a back up games with no problem when i have not use my ps2 for a while. but when i play one that i like then want to play anouther (doing the swap out all over again for a new back up game) i get the "no data on disk" screen were you would see your memory card and such...

Ive tried the unplugging the system, cleaning the lens with a dvd / cd disk cleaner...CLEANED the boot disk itself and im still getting this issue.

I can play my normal games by ps2 with no problem after i play a back up, im just not sure what could be wrong.

I have 2 copys of this swap magic coder and if the one don't work the other does when i want to play the 2nd game...EH?

Any ideas???? Thanks for your time and help guys!

There's a clear difference between the two Swap Magic disc you've received. Each respective disc you should use to boot what PS2 game you want depends on which type of PS2 game you want to play. Swap Magic CD (it'll say compact disc if you have SM 3.8, I forgot about SM 3.6), which is used to boot PS2 CD-based games that generally have a blue-colored back burnt onto a CD. Swap Magic DVD is used for PS2 DVD games with a silver back to boot PS2 DVD games, which is what most PS2 games are on, DVDs.

I Understand that!....thats not my problem...i clearly know what disk goes for what cd/dvd media... it clearly states that on the cd (or dvd) its self!

my problem is that the boot dvd disk does not read correctly all the time....

I can play A back up DVD GAME with no problem when i have not used my PS2 for a while...BUT when i want To switch games to play something else that i have backed up (DVD GAME) My SWAP MAGIC DVD CODER 3.8 won't BOOT.

Is my question any clearer? can someone please help me?

I think it is probally your pstwo laser.B/c i have a Ps2 fat one n used to have a pstwo.my pstwo will read games great after u first turn it on.But after u play it for a while the laser gets warm and the pstwo gets warm.So the laser reads the disc like its scratched but its new.so if i rest it .then it works better.but my fat ps2 nevers does that.It reads great even if i play it for 8 hrs straight.n plus the fat ps2 u can adjust the lenese.N the height of the lenses.So it is better.The slim pstwo u cant adjust it.My pstwo laser got weak n died.but the whole system was still workin.Except the laser.

Hmmm... i just played one of my back up games for like 30 mins...then wanted to play somthing else so i got the swap disk out and tried it again and it still gave the error. hmmm. so i put in my other swap magic disk i had bought *just in case i needed back up* and it worked just fine....i wonder if i got a bad copy. i bought the disk about 5 months ago... and use it all the time and i have had that issue from the start.

I can play the normal ps2 games as well after i have this problem so i don't think its the laser... hmm not sure... anyone else has this same issue??
