Will newer PSP games such as Final Fantasy work on Homebrew PSPs?

Yes, I have had a homebrew PSP for a few weeks and I am wondering, besides games that upload onto my PSP. Can I still play newer pre-made games such as Final Fantasy I for the PSP? Or does having the wrong firmware, prevent you from playing newer games bought at stores?

You can play anything (umd or iso) that requires any firmware upto 3.40
