Swap Magic 3.6 w/ Flip Top..Swap magic (both cd and DVD) Won't load

I just got swap magic 3.6 w/ flip top cover. After installing flip top cover, I put in the swap magic dvd and turned on the ps2 and followed all the steps, but it wouldnt load. So I went to browse, and then clicked on the Ps2 DVD icon. However, after about 5 seconds of black screen, instead of loading, it just went back to the screen with the memory card icon and the ps2 dvd icon (screen you go to when you click browse). I tried this numerous times, and the same thing happened each time. After that, I tried putting in a Original ps2 game (GH2 and FFx2) bc I thought I messed up the ps2, but both those games worked fine.

ps I also tried the cd version and it didn't recognize it as a ps2 cd.
