lately, I have been getting this message from DVD Shrink...

>DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
>Failed to write the H:\vts_01_1.vob"

>the disc cannot find the sector requested.

ie. H = external hard drive.

can someone assist me with this problem,
do I have to reformat the hard drive?

Try ripping 1st w/ DVDFab HD Decrypter then open those files in Shrink using it normally.

Leave the external alone, it has nothing to do with the error.

I tried your suggestion.
it is still giving me the same error msg.

on the other hand...
from windows.. this is the message that pops up..

>windows was unable to save all data for file H:\vts_01_1.vob.

>file elsewhere.

the ext. drive has about 200G left in space.

anyone has encountered the similar problem?

Strange?

-Is the external drive formatted using the FAT32 or NTFS file system?
-Do you have to save the files to the external, can you use an internal instead?
-Does the disk appear dirty/smudged is areas or scratched?, if so try and clean it, if it's badly scratced, return it if possible.

when I bought the drive, I formatted via xp.. to ntfs file system.
-am running low on internal drive, so I opt to save the file on external.
- the disc seems to be ok, have tried on different ones.. just to test it. with same results.

still getting the same error..
after I reformatted the ext. hd.
