DVD-R and CD-R mess up the PS2 laser? i read it some where that the disks put too much stress on the laser if u use a hardware modchip

Yes, DVD's and CD's that are made at home will cause stress on the laser because it has to work harder to read the burned disc then it would to read a press disc (orginal game or movie).

Just make sure you use quallity media and nothing will go wrong.
