Gamecube with Qoob Pro??

Hoping someone can help me. I bought a modded gamecube with a Qoob Pro chip. The thing is when I boot up the gamecube, it loads up just like a regular gamecube. There is no bios screen or qoob pro logo or disc explorer of any kind. How do I know this really has a Qoob Pro in it and also why is no bios being displayed. I just get the regular cube logo with the gameplay options/memory cards, etc. I have burned some game back-ups and they loaded up just fine. But I am wanting to compile a SNES ROM disc with emulator, but I don't think it will work without a bios loaded, am I correct? I am a total newbie so any help would be great. Thanks
