Flashing/Restoring DVD Drive with Xeno Top Gear

ok, so i'm trying to restore my hitachi drive with Xeno Top Gear installed so i can re-flash it with the new ixtreme firmware. I have never flashed my drive with the Xeno Top Gear before, and everything seemed to have been going well but whenever i try to restore the drive, it just seems to freeze. here's the steps i'm doing....

1) hooking up xeno top gear to pc using sata cable and sata port on motherboard (i've used this port before, just not with the top gear)

2) turning on pc and xbox and the drive is detected in windows just as always

3) open the command window for the folder with the firmware

4) type RESTORE.BAT E (E is my 360 drive in windows)

after that it just says "Detecting VERSION of Drive..." and then it sits there and doesn't do anything else for hours

is there something i'm doing wrong? any help would be appreciated
